Quasi-mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Virgin Mobile Canada is fast approaching the 500,000 subscriber mark, company president and CEO Andrew Black revealed yesterday at the Canadian Telecom Summit. The company, which uses Bell Mobility's wireless network, surpassed the 400,000 mark just two years after launching in the first quarter of 2005, and the CEO told an audience of about 500 that the MVNO is on track to hit half a million subscribers.
