Less than half of US and Canadian companies are satisfied with the impact of current collaborative technologies, according to a survey conducted on Avanade Inc.'s behalf. But the IT consultancy (specializing in Microsoft Corp. products) says nearly all respondents see benefits in new technologies such as enterprise search tools, virtual workspaces and VoIP. Just 11% of US companies have a documented communications-technology strategy; 22% of Canadians "have nothing defined about collaborative and communication activity," according to an Avonade press release.
