Montreal recruiting website passes 2-million member mark
Brief | September 17, 2007
Jobboom.com, a division of Canoe Inc., has added an average of 250,000 new members annually since 2003 and now reports more than 2 million members. Launched in 2000, Jobboom is now one of the top five online recruiting services in Canada. "Jobboom owes its effectiveness to its business model, which is defined by job opportunities sent directly to qualified candidates who have expressed interest in that field," said Julie Phaneuf, VP and general manager of Jobboom. "Employers have access 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to flexible and innovative tools to filter applications or remove a job posting once they've received enough applications. Not only that, but we also offer the option of adding videos to job postings and a whole arsenal of other products to give companies and their listings premium visibility." Jobboom's array of products and services related to employment include books on career development, a monthly magazine, a weekly newsletter and a website that offers articles on career management.
