While questioning broadcasters during of the first day of the CRTC's Diversity of Voices proceeding, chairman Konrad von Finckenstein let it slip that the commission plans to hold a public hearing on the Canadian Television Fund. The chairman later confirmed that a proceeding on the CTF is upcoming, but did not specify a date. Last week the CRTC issued a release stating it will announce its decision on the CTF by the end of December. The commission launched a public process on June 29, 2007, the same day that the Task Force on the CTF published its report.
