EastLink debuts 5-cents per minute LD

EastLink, a telecommunications service provider with roots in Atlantic Canada, has introduced a Canada/US 5 cents per minute long distance calling plan without any restrictions on time of day. Despite the commoditization of long distance in recent years due to the emergence of calling cards and dial around service, established Canadian carriers continue to tout LD services. And some even believe it's a money maker by charging their customers a monthly surcharge.
