VisionTV announces new board chair

Dale Godsoe has been named chair of the board of directors of multi-faith and multicultural broadcaster VisionTV. A member of the Order of Canada, Godsoe retired from Dalhousie University in 2006 after serving 10 years as VP external. She is currently a director of the National Arts Centre, the Halifax Urban Design Task Force, Symphony Nova Scotia, the National Ballet School, the Landmark East Foundation, the Provincial Autism Centre (Nova Scotia) and the Pier 21 National Foundation. Godsoe also chaired the board of governors of Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax from 1987 to 1994,  and was a board member of the YWCA of Canada for 10 years, including serving as national president from 1994 to 1996. She has served on the VisionTV board since 2004 and succeeds historian Irving Abella as chair.
