Telefilm gets companies on the road to the GDC

Briefs | 11/14/2007 11:56 am EST

Telefilm Canada has announced the 20 companies that will participate in its On the Road to GDC market preparedness program leading up to the world's largest professionals-only game industry event, the Game Developers Conference, as well as Game Connection America. Both events will be held in San Francisco from February 18 to 22. Now in its second year, the Telefilm program consists of a one-day workshop and an eight-week, individual mentoring program, as well as on-site support and a networking event during the GDC. "We believe that the success of Canadian games is dependent, not only on their cultural, entertainment or educational quality, but on the ability of game companies to have well-developed business plans, which also provide for international networking," said Danny Chalifour, Telefilm's director of industry development operations in a news release. "That's why we're pleased to offer this program again this year."
