CBC integrates English services
Briefs | 11/22/2007 6:10 pm EST
CBC announced today it is integrating all of its English-language platforms, including television, radio and CBC.ca. "CBC/Radio-Canada recognizes that in order to keep pace with emerging trends in media usage, it needs to transform from a collection of individual platform-specific networks into an integrated provider of content," said president and CEO Robert Rabinovitch in a news release. "Increasingly, Canadians are consuming their news, information and entertainment programs through the technological platform of their choice." He added that CBC must adapt if its audiences are to maintain access to quality Canadian content. The broadcaster integrated its French-language services in 2005. CBC also appointed Richard Stursberg executive VP of English services as part of the realignment.
