Rogers launches Super Channels in Ontario, N.B.

Rogers Cable Communications Inc. has launched the Super Channel package consisting of four standard-defintion Super Channel stations to its customers in Ontario and New Brunswick: Super Channel 1 provides series, movies, documentaries and music; Super Channel 2 with action, horror, sci-fi, anime, extreme sports and comedies is for viewers who tend to like alternative programming; Super Channel 3 is skewed to female audiences; and Super Channel 4 carries premium programming shot and produced in Canada. "Viewers have been requesting Super Channel and we are pleased Rogers is the first major cable operator to answer those requests," said Malcolm Knox, President and COO, Super Channel. "We look forward to putting our unique offering out to Canadians and enhancing their pay television viewing experience." The Super Channel package is available to Rogers PersonalTV customers for $15.99 a month.
