QuickPlay to power Fido mobile TV solution

Toronto-based QuickPlay Media has announced that wireless telecommunications provider Fido is using QuickPlay's OpenVideo platform to power streaming video-on-demand and streaming radio-on-demand services as part of Fido's 3G high-speed experience. "We are excited to partner with Fido, a longtime leader in the Canadian mobile market," said Mark Hyland, VP of marketing for QuickPlay, in a press release. "With our OpenVideo platform, Fido is able to expand its mobile data offering, delivering the latest in streaming radio and video services to their customer base of social, hip, urban consumers." QuickPlay's OpenVideo platform currently powers mobile video services for 12 major mobile operators in North America and Europe, providing both live and on-demand content from more than 150 different media companies.
