CTV-Rogers adds to Olympic consortium

David Strickland and Adam Ashton, respectively, have been named senior VP of sales and VP of marketing for CTV-Rogers' coverage of the 2010 and 2012 Olympic Games. In his new role Strickland will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the revenue streams, including sponsorships, sales packaging and pricing, and business development. He brings an impressive 23-year sales and marketing career to the consortium, including extensive Olympic experience as director of marketing for CTV during the 1992 and 1994 Games, as senior VP of marketing for Hudson's Bay Company/Zellers during the 2004 Olympics, and as VP of business development for Enbridge Inc. where he led the retail division's sponsorship of the 2008 Toronto Olympic bid. Strickland has also worked in leadership roles at Toronto Raptors Basketball, Labatt Breweries of Canada, and Pepsico. Most recently, he was a business consultant, with numerous clients including the CFL, JWT Advertising and Maclaren McCann.
