International Datacasting Corp. has been awarded a Canadian patent relating to the encryption and decryption of digital data streams. The patent is a critical element of the Ottawa-based company's strategy to ensure the integrity of clients' IP datacasting over satellite. "The security of data and the ability to reliably control subscriber access are paramount in many of our applications – especially for financial information, digital cinema and IPTV," said IDC's president and CEO Ron Clifton.
