Comments deadline for HDTV application extended

The CRTC has extended the deadline to January 24 for filing interventions or comments on the applications of HDTV Networks Inc. and Yes TV Inc. to operate over-the-air, high-definition television services. The extension from the original filing deadline of January 17 was granted following a request by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. The hearing into the applications is still scheduled for February 11. Canadian Communications Reports spoke with a pair of analysts about the HDTV Networks application prior to the holidays.
