Fidus appoints president

Fidus Systems Inc. has appointed Kevin Rankin as president taking over day-to-day operations from Mike Wakim, the company's founder and CEO, who is on sabbatical until July 2008. Rankin has 24 years experience in the high tech sector, having held a number of senior management positions at Newbridge Networks, LSI Logic and Nortel Networks. Most recently, he founded Tropic Networks Inc. in 2000 and led the company to its acquisition by Alcatel-Lucent in April 2007.
