Corus reports revenue growth in Q1 results

Corus Entertainment Inc. announced continued growth revenue growth from its broadcasting businesses in its first quarter results. The broadcaster reported consolidated revenues of $214.8 million for the quarter ended November 30, 2007, up 3% over Q1 of the previous year. Corus Television contributed $126.1 million of that total, up from $122.6 million in 2006, and Corus Radio revenues were $79.5 million, also up, from $75.6 million. "In Q1, we invested in programming and marketing to continue our growth momentum," said John Cassaday, president and CEO of Corus. "These solid results were in line with our expectations and our continued confidence in our business has enabled us to once again substantially increase our dividend."
