CAB appoints new regulatory VP

The Canadian Association of Broadcasters has named Jay Thomson VP of regulatory and policy. In his new role Thomson will be responsible for regulatory matters dealing with programming content and social policy issues, including policy development, industry analysis, strategic planning and advocacy with government and industry stakeholders. Thomson was most recently assistant VP of broadband policy at Telus Communications. He has also served as legal counsel and as a policy analyst at the CRTC and as VP, legal and regulatory affairs at the Canadian Cable Television Association.
