Shaw adds more HD

Briefs | 02/13/2008 5:47 pm EST

Shaw Communications has added Speed HD and NASCAR Hotpass to its digital television line-up. All Shaw HD customers will receive a free preview of Speed HD until June 1, with the Hotpass preview scheduled for its launch date February 17 for the running of the Daytona 500. Hotpass will be available on four standard definition channels, with many of the races also being delivered in HD. "We are committed to providing our customers with the best sports programming available," said Peter Bissonnette, president of Shaw. "We are pleased to add SPEED to our expanding HD line-up and we are confident NASCAR Hotpass will heighten the race viewing experience for all our digital subscribers." Following its preview day, Hotpass will be available for $72 for the entire 37-race NASCAR season.
