Toronto-based Shaftesbury Films has partnered with IToys for a line of electronic hand-held and tabletop games based on the Shaftesbury live-action kids comedy series Life with Derek. The highly-rated series is translated into more than 14 languages and airs in more than 100 countries worldwide, including the US, France, the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Latin America, Eastern Europe, South East Asia, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. "IToys has built a reputation for creating award-winning products for contemporary consumers and we felt they’d be an ideal partner for imaginative products that will uphold the integrity of the Life with Derek brand as it is integrated into new categories," said Shane Kinnear, VP of marketing and sales for Shaftesbury. The first line of products are scheduled to roll out during the first quarter of 2009.
