OMA elects new leadership

The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) has elected a new chair of the board and two new vice-chairs. Fred Harrison, head of standards at Telefonica Europe will become the OMA’s new chair, replacing Jari Alvinen of Nokia. During Alvinen’s tenure, the organization has grown from its initial membership of 200 companies to its current membership of nearly 400 companies around the globe. Timo Perala, head of services standardization for Nokia Siemens Networks, and Ileana Leuca, service standardization director for AT&T, were elected as vice-chairs.
