Magellan strengthening retails sales channel

Briefs | 06/24/2008 12:39 pm EDT

Magellan, a portable navigation device maker, has inked an agreement with ReSource Group Canada to strengthen and expand sales support to retailers and distributors across Canada.
"Portable auto navigation continues to experience incredible growth and Magellan recognizes the need to expand our presence in Canada. We are committed to the growing Canadian market and have selected ReSource Group Canada as our partner due to its extensive knowledge of the retail market and established relationships," said Chris Jensen, Magellan’s director of sales for Canada.
Canalys, a research and consulting firm, indicates that more than 80,000 personal navigation devices shipped in the first quarter in Canada. The two companies plan to enhance Magellan’s nearly 37% market share by building strategic partnerships with quality retailers and better managing sales channels.
