CIPPIC calls for investigation on behavioural targeting

Consumer trust in the Internet could be severely eroded if ISPs are allowed to use personal web surfing information for marketing purposes says one of the country’s consumer advocacy groups. Referred to as behavioural targeting, this type of marketing is enabled by ISPs’ use of deep packet inspection (DPI) technology.
