Jay Switzer, former CEO of CHUM Ltd., has joined the board of OUTtv, Canada's gay and lesbian television channel. Switzer tried to secure a similar licence while he was at CHUM.Commenting on the appointment, chief operating officer Brad Danks said: "It is such an important time for OUTtv to have the wisdom and experience of someone like Jay on our team. Our subscribers have more than doubled in the past two years and our advertising dollars are up more than six times over last year. Having someone like Jay involved can really help us get to the next level."Pink Triangle Press president and executive director Ken Popert was also confirmed to the OUTtv board, which appointed Danks as COO, with treasurer Andrew Chang also assuming the role of CFO. The other board members are: Joy MacPhail (chair), CEO James Shavick, Les Tomlin (CEO of Peace Point Entertainment Group) and Kevin Fox (CEO of Re:Source Media).OUTtv, which boasts a subscriber based of about 500,000 Canadians, also has supply deals with the U.S.-based Here! channel and OUTtv Media in the Netherlands.
