Bell Aliant invests in Island broadband

Bell Aliant and the government of Prince Edward Island have entered into a joint development agreement that will see the incumbent telco invest $8.2 million to expand broadband to every community on the Island. As well, the government and Bell Aliant will each contribute $500,000 over the next five years to set up $1 million Joint Innovation Fund to promote and develop Internet-based applications and uses for Island businesses.
