Digital media viewed as reliable channel in face of uncertain economy: IAB

Briefs | 11/13/2008 4:52 pm EST

As 2008 comes to a close and advertisers, agencies and publishers get ready to set their budgets for 2009, there is increasing evidence that online advertising will continue to grow at a double-digit pace in 2009, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada. IAB Canada’s projected total for 2008 Online Advertising Revenue in Canada is estimated to be $1.5 billion — a full 25% percent more than the 2007 actuals of $1.2 billion. "The 2008 revenue figure should be expected to be pretty safe," says Paula Gignac, president of IAB Canada, "as that budget was fully allocated in 2007."
