Rogers wins all news TV licence

The CRTC has approved Rogers Media‘s application for a category 2 digital all news channel serving the City of Toronto and Greater Toronto Area. The service will feature local news, weather and sports from Citytv, as well as news items from other Rogers-owned media properties, including The Fan 590, 680News, Sportsnet, Rogers Publishing and the Toronto Blue Jays. Rogers Media Television says it will unveil launch date and branding plans for the new channel at a later date.
