CRTC approves Cambell River cable sale to Shaw

The CRTC has approved the acquisition of the Campbell River cable system by Shaw Communications Inc.. The sale of the small community-run and non-profit cable system had proved controversial in the past with some members strongly objecting to the sale. In approving the decision, the CRTC say it reviewed the legality of the sale, quality of service, programming offering, customer service and rates, community channel and other matters and found that there are no legal impediments to the sale.
