S-VOX sells Christian channel

Briefs | 01/26/2009 7:42 pm EST

The Christian Channel has been sold to the World Impact Ministries (WIM), a St. Catherine’s, ON-based Christian charity. The sale was announced today by S-VOX group of companies, which owns the channel. It will be final pending approval from the CRTC. Mark Prasuhn, president of The Christian channel said WIM is "uniquely positioned to build on the success that has been achieved to date," adding he looks forward to facilitating a smooth transition. Upon approval from the CRTC, WIM will take charge of operations at the Channel, which was launched in 2005, and introduce a new flagship variety enterprise program called Encounter, which will air everyday on prime time.
