U.S senate delays switch to digital

The U.S Senate has voted unanimously to delay the transition to digital by four months after a federal subsidy program for converter boxes reached a US $1.34 billion funding limit this month. This essentially means the Feb. 17 deadline has now been effectively pushed back to June 12. Advocates for the delay say it is needed to cater to the needs of the poor, elderly, and those in rural areas who are not ready for the change to digital.
