Axia lands deal in France

Axia NetMedia Corp. announced that Covage, its joint venture with VINCI Networks has landed the network contract for another Délégations de Service Public (DSP) in France. Dunkerque Grand Littoral Networks is located in northern France, has a population of 210,000 and consists of 18 communities, with the city of Dunkerque having 70,000 inhabitants. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2009 and is expected to be complete by June 2010. The network will connect 11 central government offices, 50 business parks and 300 publicly owned sites. It will consist of 162 kms of infrastructure including 120 kms to be built and 40 kms of existing infrastructure including the seaport’s ducts. The DSP might also extend the network to be cover 25,000 homes.
