CRTC seeks ways to ease cash burden on small TV broadcasters

The CRTC has issued a call for input to review licence renewals for conventional broadcasters in light of the current economic downturn which has been decimating ad revenues. The move could result in a new type of licence that would ease the financial burden on small television broadcasters who are currently bearing the brunt of the global credit crunch. The deadline for submission of comments is Feb. 23.
