Shaw shakes up executive team

Shaw Communications Inc. has given some of its most senior executives new titles and expanded responsibilities. Brad Shaw, mostly recently senior VP, operators for Shaw Cable, now becomes senior VP, operations., with responsibility for Shaw Cable, Star Choice, Shaw Broadcast Services and Shaw Tracking. He has held several senior positions with the company over the past 21 years. Dennis Steiger becomes group VP, engineering, with accountability for all engineering activities within Shaw Cable, Star Choice, Shaw Broadcast and Shaw Tracking businesses. He has over 22 years of cable and telecommunications experience and has been a key leader within Shaw's engineering team for the past 12 years. Jay Mehr is appointed group VP, operations, with responsibility for the overall leadership for Shaw's Cable Operations, including customer care, sales, technical operations and community program delivery. He has over 12 years of leadership experience with Shaw, including regional management positions in BC, Alberta and Ontario, and leading Shaw's digital and on demand television team. Jean Brazeau is also gaining new responsibilities as he moves from VP, telecom regulatory affairs to senior VP, regulatory affairs, with responsibility for all regulatory matters related to Shaw Communications. Brazeau has extensive senior leadership experience across both the public and private sectors in the regulatory field. Trevor English has been promoted from director of finance to VP, capital markets, responsible for investor relations, treasury and corporate investments. English has a broad background in financial analysis, capital market activities, and mergers and acquisitions.
