Bridgewater Systems Inc. has announced that a US operator has successfully deployed its WestSpan product in a live network. The identity of the carrier was not revealed in the news release. The WestSpan product enables wireless operators to more easily provision network capacity and other resources to deal with increase mobile data usage. According to a news release, the US carrier is using the WideSpan system to predict and manage the rapid growth in the company's popular flat-rate, unlimited wireless services as it expands nationally. "We are delighted that a major customer has successfully deployed our WideSpan system to meet the mobile transaction scalability requirements for its popular unlimited wireless services,” said David Sharley, senior VP at Bridgewater. “This second major customer win is further market validation of Bridgewater's innovative approach to managing mobile data growth based on transaction volumes and a deep understanding of subscriber behaviors."
