Corus Entertainment Inc. is spending $40 million to acquire specialty TV channels Drive-In Classics and SexTV from CTVglobemedia for $40 million. “These services are currently available in over two million households and provide a great base to grow their audiences and increase their appeal to our advertising customers,” John Cassaday, president/CEO, Corus Entertainment, said in a release. The deal is subject to approval by the CRTC. Corus also announced this week a quarterly loss of $145 million ($1.81/share) for its specialty TV and radio group in the third quarter ended May 31. That compares with a profit of $37.7 million ($0.45/share) for the same quarter last year. Overall, revenue fell 6% to $195.4 million from $207.8 million.
