California-based telecom company LightRiver Technologies, Inc. is making a more aggressive play for Canadian utility, transit, telecom and government clients in need of next-generation telecom transport solutions. The company has launched LightRiver Technologies Canada, Inc., based in Toronto. The new division is headed by Biagio Di Battista, director of business development, who has held senior positions at BigBand Networks, Axiowave, Nortel, Fonorola, Bell Canada and AT&T Canada. “The Canadian telecommunications markets have unique needs and important perspectives. We believe that there is a significant opportunity for us to serve their needs by delivering turnkey solutions, carrier-class quality, high standards of technical expertise and unparalleled customer care,” LightRiver CEO Glenn Johansen said in a release.
