Open letter: Industry minister, not CRTC, should have first say in Globealive’s ownership: PIAC

The Public Interest Advocacy Centre has added its name to the growing list of groups urging the federal government to overturn a CRTC ruling blocking Egyptian-backed Globalive Wireless Management Corp. from launching a competitive wireless service in Canada. In a Nov. 20 letter to Industry minister Tony Clement, PIAC also says any further complaints about Globalive’s ownership should be vetted by the minister first – and not the CRTC.
