Ottawa-based International Datacasting Corporation (IDC) renewed a major contract with the Department of National Defence, the company announced Monday. The $2.8 million contract will see IDC continue to operate Canadian Forces Radio and Television (CFRT). The contract marks the tenth year IDC has provided the service to Canadian troops overseas. CFRT delivers entertainment, sports and news programming to Canadian soldiers on two television channels and on FM radio. IDC, an international distributor of broadband multimedia content through satellites, handles all aspects of the CFRT programming, including negotiating rights and permissions, recording and scheduling.
