Bill King, formerly Industry Minister Tony Clement’s chief of staff, has parted with the minister’s office for an unspecified position outside of government. Clement’s former director of communications Darren Cunningham recently stepped in to fill the role of chief of staff, sources tell The Wire Report. King has been with Clement since the Conservative Party’s election victory in 2006. He was appointed chief of staff to Clement, then the health minister, in 2006. King also served as a staffer to Ontario premier Mike Harris from his election as MPP for Nipissing in 1981 to his time as premier. Clement’s office did not comment on the staff change Tuesday.
