The House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry, Science, and Technology and the House Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage announced their membership and elected chairs this week. The heritage committee has again elected Conservative MP Gary Schellenberger as chair. The heritage committee’s membership remains largely the same. It is comprised of: Conservative MPs Rod Bruinooge, Royal Galipeau, Dean Del Mastro, Nina Grewal, and Tim Uppal; Liberal MPs Ruby Dhalla, Scott Simms, and Pablo Rodriguez (also committee vice-chair); Bloc MPs Roger Pomerleau and Carole Lavallée (also committee vice-chair); and NDP MP Charlie Angus. The heritage committee clerk continues to be Richard Dupuis. The House industry committee has again elected Conservative MP Michael Chong as chair. Its membership is comprised of: Conservative MPs Peter Braid, Gordon Brown, Mike Lake, Dave Van Kesteren, and Mike Wallace; Liberal MPs Marc Garneau, Dan McTeague, and Anthony Rota (also committee vice-chair); Bloc MPs Serge Cardin, and Robert Bouchard (also committee vice-chair); and NDP MP Brian Masse. The committee clerk continues to be Michelle Tittley.
