Cybera Inc. announced last week it has named John Shillington as vice-president, technology. Cybera operates CyberaNet, a high-bandwidth network in Alberta. Shillington will focus on improving data management, software development and cloud computing for the network. Shillington previously worked on Cybera’s project team as lead cyber-infrastructure architect. Cybera also announced that Patrick Mann, the company’s chief technology officer, has stepped down. The company said in a release it hopes the reorganization will help support new services to improve Internet accessibility and deliver more cloud computing options for small businesses. Cybera said it will add technical staff over the next few weeks to support rollout of the new services.
