Telus Corp.’s television customer base grew by 94 per cent over the last 12 months to 266,000 subscribers, according to the company’s third quarter results released Friday. The company launched its Optik TV brand in June. Telus’ total number of customers increased by 347,000 from the same time last year, driven by the increase in television customers as well as a 6.8 per cent growth in wireless subscribers. But the company’s residential and business network access lines declined by 51,000 to 3.79 million. Telus also announced Wednesday the launch of Telus Health Space, an online consumer platform that allows members to access and manage their health information. The service was launched for 2,000 Telus team members and will soon be available to the public. Through the service users can create, store and manage their family health information.
