The CBC announced Tuesday that Scott Moore, executive director of CBC Sports and general manager of the CBC Revenue Group, has decided to leave the organization. In Moore’s absence David Masse will take over responsibility for CBC Sports on an interim basis. Broadcasting industry veteran Jack Tomik will take over responsibilities for the CBC Revenue Group, which oversees marketing, sales and business development. Masse has worked with the CBC on the Beijing Olympics coverage, Hockey Night in Canada and last summer, the 2010 FIFA World Cup of Soccer. "This has been a difficult decision," Moore said in a release. "It's been a privilege to work with great colleagues on some of the best sports programming in the world and to help build a sales and marketing team that has grown the business despite considerable market adversity. I'll always be proud of this place and what it does." The broadcaster is finalizing a search for a new executive director for CBC Sports. The CBC did not say what Moore plans to do next.
