Verizon Wireless announced Wednesday it will launch its new 4G LTE wireless broadband network in 38 U.S. cities on Sunday. The new network will initially be available for laptop users. Smart phones will be added to the service in mid-2011. Verizon said at a press conference Wednesday it expects the new service to kick-start LTE adoption. The company said it expects the network to provide download speeds of five to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of two to 5 Mbps. Cities in the coverage areas include Boston, Washington, Chicago and Seattle.
