Bell Canada announced Wednesday the appointment of Stephen Howe to the position of executive vice-president and chief technology officer, effective Jan. 1, 2011. From his new position Howe will lead the company’s wireline and wireless teams. Howe formerly held the position of senior vice-president and chief technology officer at Bell Mobility. Bell also announced the retirement of executive vice-president of networks J. Trevor Anderson, effective Dec. 31, 2010. Anderson has worked for Bell for 39 years. Anderson led the rollout of the company’s first Internet protocol-based network, as well as its fibre network.
