Telus Corp. announced Wednesday that it will build a $65 million Tier III Intelligent Data Centre in Rimouski, Que. The project is set to enhance Telus' IT management services in Québec, Canada and globally, the company said. Telus said the move is part of a strategic shift to support its next-generation cloud computing and unified communications solutions. "he data centre will meet their growing need for cloud computing solutions which are becoming a software and infrastructure management priority," François Côté, president of Telus Québec, said in a release. Construction on the green facility will start in the next few weeks and it is scheduled to open in 2012.
