Shaw Communications Inc. announced last week that it has completed an acquisition of the Sun Country cable system in British Columbia. "Sun Country has built an excellent system which represents a terrific addition to our existing cable properties and we are excited to expand our presence in the Interior of British Columbia" Peter Bissonnette, president of Shaw, said in a release. As part of the deal, Shaw is acquiring Sun Country Cablevision Ltd. and its affiliate companies Armstrong Cablecom Ltd. and Enderby Cablecom Ltd. The purchase amount was not disclosed. Sun Country launched in 1984 and provides television, phone and Internet services. In January, Shaw also announced the purchase of the Lake Broadcasting cable system in British Columbia for $3.464 million.
