Corus Entertainment Inc. announced increased advertising revenues Thursday in its results for the third quarter of 2011. The company said its specialty advertising revenues increased by 15 per cent for the quarter and by 15 per cent since the same time last year. Subscriber revenues grew by 5 per cent during the quarter and 7 per cent year-to-date, the company said. Corus' consolidated revenues for the quarter totalled $211.8 million, up 7 per cent from the same period last year when they were $198.4 million. The company's net income for the quarter also increased to $39.2 million, from $28.3 million in 2009, Corus said. “The successful conversion of strong top line growth and cost containment initiatives resulted in outstanding operating leverage,” John Cassaday, president and CEO of Corus, said in a statement.
