The Canada Media Fund (CMF) is loosening restrictions on its language versioning program that will allow for assistance after the completion of just one episode, the fund announced Monday. The CMF’s versioning program increases the reach of programming and the revenue of producers by assisting in offering versions of works in different languages. Under the previous guidelines, the CMF required an entire television series to be completed before any episode could be eligible for versioning assistance. An exception for animated series allowed for assistance after just one episode was completed. The CMF is now extending the exception to live-action series, making any series eligible for assistance upon the completion of one episode.
