The CRTC approved Monday a broadcasting licence for Faune TV, a national, French-language, Category 2 specialty service devoted to hunting and fishing. The service will offer educational programming on wildlife conservation, food preparation and safety issues related to hunting. As a condition of licence, no more than 10 per cent of programming in a broadcast week can be devoted to food preparation. The commission did not receive any interventions related to the application. Faune TV is operated by Wild TV Inc., which is wholly owned by Dieter Kohler, the sole director and shareholder.
