Stingray Digital announced Tuesday that it has launched Galaxie Mobile, a new Canadian-owned mobile streaming music service. The company said the cloud music service is commercial-free and the only one of its kind that is Canadian-owned. The service expands the existing Galaxie music channels, now available online and through television subscription packages, to mobile devices. “The addition of a mobile service to the Galaxie line-up demonstrates Stingray’s commitment to providing more choice to our listeners on multiple platforms, as well as our commitment to supporting Canadian music talent which is featured on all 45 channels,” Eric Boyko, president of Stingray, said in a statement. The Galaxie music player is available for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and all Android devices, the company said, adding that it will also be available soon to U.S. customers and other devices like Blackberry. Subscriptions to the service are $5 per month, $10 for a three-month package or at an annual rate of $40.
