Hollywood Suite Inc. is launching a package of four new high-definition movie channels in Canada, the company announced Tuesday. A release said that Hollywood Suite—a package of four movie channels broadcasting a range of films from Warner Bros., MGM, and action and romance films from other studios—would feature commercial-free HD movies, uncut and unedited on a 24-hour basis. Advertisements will run between films. The company said subscribers will have access to more than 450 movies per month for one price, which includes a selection available for on-demand, on-line and mobile platforms. “These channels are designed to meet the strong audience demand for movies across all platforms and support Canada’s television service providers,” Jay Switzer, chairman and co-founder of Hollywood Suite, said in a statement. “With a number of leading financial backers including Alliance Films, and with studio support from Warner Bros, MGM, and Alliance, as well as many Canadian producers, we know these channels will be exceptionally well received in Canada.” Hollywood Suite Inc. is a new Toronto company founded by broadcasting industry players Switzer, Jeff Sackman, Michael McLaughlin, Catherine Tait and David Kines.
